How to hide share/like buttons on front page, but show on individual posts?

    When I click on the ‘Show share and like buttons’ in the post edit mode, it disappears from both the individual post and the front page both!
    I’d like my posts to show all the sharing icons on the individual posts after I click them, but remain hidden on the front page.
