How to host my wordpress with another server other than wordpress
-
Hi, I’ve been having trouble, as I don’t have a website built yet, I want a company to built my website for me and they are having trouble to point their server to the domain as the domain is already pointing to wordpress. How do I change this and go about it? I dont have any subscriptions to cancel, since this is what is suggested. Any help would be appreciated. Kind regards Riaan.
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

I just want to add that I bought a domain name from wordpress. But don’t have access to it. I just want to host the domain name with another company and not wordpress.com. If that makes sense.

Hey there,
Many thanks for reaching out, I’m sure we can help with this.
Are you able to tell us the domain that’s been purchased? We’ll take a look at where that’s located and help with next steps.
Many thanks.

Hello
The domain is elanrouse.com
I also purchased a professional email- (email visible only to moderators and staff)
I’d like to cancel the email.

Got it. You’ll want to log into the account that owns the domain, first, so you can manage its settings.
The domain is only 19 days old. Too new to transfer out. But you can absolutely change its DNS or Name Server settings, and the folks who have set up a new site for you can likely help with that.
Regarding the professional email, you’re currently using a free trial for that. You’ll want to decide whether you want to continue to use that email, or whether you want to use some other service. And then when you’re logged into the correct account, contact support for assistance.
If the people who built your new site made it in WordPress, please know that can be hosted here. In many cases, you’ll have an individual copy of WordPress with another host. That’s fine so long as you can invest the time needed to keep it up to date, secure, properly maintained, and running smoothy. Just bear in mind the free software is DIY, so you’ll need to either take care of that work on your own, or hire someone to manage it for you. Or, you’d be welcome to host here, where those features are included in our services. We have more info in this article, so just let us know if you have any further questions about our services.
