How to I change the homepage so that only a few posts appear?

On the homepage, it shows the entire text and not just the summary. I need to know how to condense items. I want the picture to show and a short summary. Then have the reader click on “show more” if they want to read the entire text.

I’m trying to figure out how to do the same thing on my blog as well. Some of my posts are long, so I’d rather have “show more” links than the whole post on the page.

You can create your own truncated (summary) post by editing the existing content to include a <Read More–> link.
From your Dashboard, insert the link by using the Read More tag where you want the break to be. The icon is found on the top row of your Posting tools. It looks like two solid lines separated by a broken line. (Make sure you are in the Visual Mode and not Text).
If you’ve done it correctly, a — More —- option will show between your text.
Click on Update, and you should be good to go.
