How to I send automatic email's to my blog followers when I make a new post?

How do I automatically cause new posts I have posted to be sent via email to people registered to view my blog? I don’t want my blog to be public- I just want the people who I have invited to view my blog to receive emails when I have put up a new post.

thank you so much for answering my question! This is very helpful. One more question~ is it possible for the emails to include the pictures i put in the blog in the text of the email? As of now, the person receiving the email must click on the link and actually go to my blog to view photos.
