How to I stop automatic mailouts when I publish a new post?

I would like to know how to turn off the automatic emails that get sent out to my subscribers when I publish a new post.

When I started my blog I hosted it on WordPress and I had a ‘Follow Me’ widget on it so anyone who wanted to receive new blog posts by email could sign up that way.

A couple of months ago I moved over to SiteGround to self-host my WordPress blog. I kept that widget on but I don’t like the format of the emails anymore so I installed Mailchimp so I could make them look nicer.

I have transferred the email addresses of everyone who signed up when I had the ‘Follow Me’ widget.

Its now all set up but I don’t know how to turn off the old emails. I published a new post this morning but it sent it out automatically to everyone again. I just need to know how to switch that off so it doesn’t send emails to everyone automatically when I publish a post, then I can just email everyone with Mailchimp.

I’ve gone through my dashboard settings to see how to switch it off but I can’t see anything there. I have contacted SiteGround but they couldn’t see how to do it.

    Can anyone help?
