Whoops, didn’t mean to hit enter there..Anyway, I have a basic wordpress account which means that I don’t have access (as far as I know) to Google Analytic. Long story short, I’ve had a huge bump in traffic, but it’s all pretty much to my static home/archives page. I doubt there’s that many people coming for that but nothing else. Looks like all of it is being referred by google.com. With my kind of account is there anyway to confirm if this is fake traffic? If it is, is there anything I can do about it? Thanks!

Not much you can check more than you already have – I have flagged this for the staff – they can see some info that I can’t (like actual counts)
The traffic could be from people you have met and they “Googled” your name – I see my name in the search terms from time to time – since Google is now encrypting search terms you can’t see much about the terms used to bring traffic to your site. I have had that happen on a site I have for sailing pictures, somebody will be searching for a specific name and show up.
You have a personal site and the “About” page is the landing page, so if someone is looking for a bit of info on you, it is on the front page.

Hi @corvidresearch,
It looks like you have had an increase in referrals from search engines, which aligns with an increase in search terms. I suspect these were individuals that Googled your site or your name and landed on your homepage as Auxclass alluded to. Outside of that, we don’t have a way of determining whether these were “fake hits” to your site or not.
