How to import from another WordPress Blog

  I would like to move all of the content from my old wordpress blog http://blogs.henrico.k12.va.us/jwherod/ to my new wordpress blog herodclass.wordpress.com. I have followed the directions on this site: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/. Once I import the .xml file I get the message to wait 24 hours for an email confirming that the import is done. This has not happened for 5 days. I cannot seem to try the process again because the screen is stuck on the wait 24 hours for an email message.
