How to index website pages on Google?
-
My website is indexed and showing on Google results but individual pages are not indexed. I’ve already submitted sitemap.xml to Google search console. https://search.google.com/search-console/sitemaps. But when I checked the index coverage it is showing one URL valid rest excluded. can anyone please help me here?
Thanks

Hi there,
I’m afraid there’s no way to force this.
You can make your site visible to search engines, which you’ve done by setting your site public. You can let them know when you publish new content, which we do for you automatically. You can submit your sitemap, which we also do automatically but which you’ve also done yourself. And you can verify your site with Search Console, you’ve also done already.
So you’ve done everything you can do on this end.
But from here it’s up to Google and their algorithms how they index your site and display it in search results. The only advice I can give is to continue publishing new posts on your site – we ping search engines each time you do that – and be patient for Google’s crawlers to finish indexing all content on your site.

Thanks for the reply. All of my blog pages are Live for more than 2-3 months, they should have been indexed by now. On Google Search Console (https://search.google.com/search-console/) under the coverage section, I can see it is showing 1 valid URL and 29 URLs excluded. Is there any reason these URLs are excluded?

Hello there,
What are the 29 URLs that have been excluded?
Generally speaking, excluded URLs is when Google is aware of this page, and thinks it doesn’t belong in the index for a valid reason.
There could be a number of reasons for this.

Hello,
These 29 pages are my blogs eg. https://sitecorewithraman.wordpress.com/2021/10/07/custom-email-templates-for-sitecore-exm/
This URL is part of my sitemap.xml, and when I am doing URL inspection for this in the search console, I can see, discovered but not indexed.
is there any reason for this? -
Hello there,
It’s most likely Google had an issue with indexing the site, to which there can be many reasons, reasons that are usually beyond our control.
To re-assure you, I can see the site and the pages are indexable and the sitemap is generated with the above URL here: https://sitecorewithraman.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml
Google will need to re-crawl and re-index the site and will do this at it’s own schedule.
You can fetch as Google within the console, but it’s recommended this only should only be done once: https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2011/08/submit-urls-to-google-with-fetch-as
I hope this helps.
