How to insert a breakout box of text within a post?
-
I am going to publish a long post. In addition to photos and the quote box, I want to break up all the type with a breakout box. In the newspaper biz, that’s called a sidebar, but not like what you call a sidebar, which appears along the side rail and offers readers bits of information.
I want to put some of the story into a separate (lightly shaded box) to break up the monotony. I have the free version, and don’t see a way to do this.
Question: By upgrading to a premium version of WordPress, would I find a way to break text out into a box and embed it into my post along with pictures and a quote-out?
If so, which upgrade should I buy? (I’m not talking about upgrading to be able to use CSS. I have no knowledge or experience in writing code. I want to click on a button that will put my selected text into the box.)
Thank you.

I’ve used the blockquote many times before, but all I did was shade the quote and click on the “icon at the top.
I hadn’t seen the ul ol li before now. Am I supposed to do something with them, too, or instead?

Visual editor icons > http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/
Pull quotes are possible on some themes like Twenty Eleven http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyeleven/
I strongly suspect that justpi (another Volunteer) will be along to help if you are patient while waiting.

You can style the content of a post any way you like, by using code in the so-called Text editor. We can show you how to do what you’re looking for if you describe exactly how you’d like it to be (or if you link to an example).
