You must presize every .gif to fit into the exact space you want it to display in, as resizing it after uploading it into your blog means the animation will be lost.
See http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/
Here details about the options for uploading images and linking them http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/04/26/images-the-three-link-options/

It doesn’t matter if you select NONE or anything. What is the actual URL of the gif in your media library? You just upload a GIF the same way you upload any other image.

Raincoaster:
Look this the URL from where I got it: http://giphy.com/gifs/xxLCDIDA0iKU8
This is the URL that I downloaded and saved it into my desktop: C:UsersLUISADocumentsLuisa’s StuffMERKAFBOr do think I need to save it with a third party storage?

That is not the GIF URL. That is the page URL. The GIF URL is http://media.giphy.com/media/xxLCDIDA0iKU8/original.gif

All the advice I gotten is on how to insert an image, which I assume is the same process to insert a Gif. I have done all the process: Add media, select the image, leave the size as it is, insert into post, but the image does not move. Then I try to see if it looks different on the preview and nothing, the image is still the same without moving. I don’t want to post a link. I would like to have it automatically play within the post. Any other suggestion?

If your content column is less wide than the GIF, the GIF will remain stationary. Please give us a link to the post in your blog where you’ve inserted the GIF, so we can examine it in situ.

Here is the link: http://merkaconsultingblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=299&action=edit&message=6&postpost=v2
If it helps the size showed on the properties is: 488 KB (500,575 bytes) and the size showed while editing is: 232-300

The image is 239px wide but you selected the medium size option when inserting it, and your medium option happens to be set to 232. Delete the image and re-insert it, selecting the full size option.
