How to insert Alexa code in WordPress.com

  • Unknown's avatar

    Dear Sirs,
I have recently started a blog in wordpresss.com (www.mundotrading.net) that I moved from blogger.
I have received a message from Alexa saying that they cannot track my blog if I do not insert the Alexa certification code. That code is in javascript. They asked me to contact you to see if there is any solution.
    Thanks for your time.
    Best,
    Gustavo rodríguez

  • Hi Gustavo,

We don’t have an option to allow Javascript at this time since we’re unable to ensure the security and stability of the code being used. I’ve made note of your request for future enhancement.

You can use the Alexa Javascript if you use the self-hosted WordPress.org software. You can read more about the difference between the two at WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

The WordPress.org software is free, though you need to have an hosting account to use it. While there are a number of options, a few are listed at http://get.wp.com/hosting . Personally, I’ve used Bluehost the most.

With WordPress.org, you can install Alexa’s plugin to add the code to your site. A little more including a link to the plugin can be found on their FAQ’s page: http://www.alexa.com/faqs/?cat=261

If you have any questions or need anything else, please let me know.
