How to insert entire image to header photo?

  I am trying to upload a header image for my new blog page. I have tried different sizes, the most recent being a 700pixel X 137 pixel image of my company logo. Going to Appearance, Header image, I am being asked to crop out a section. It was my understanding that the 700 pixel image would not be cropped. How can I get my full logo displayed in the header image? The 700 pixel file I am trying to use is titled: 700poxel_logo_worpress.png

  The custom header dimensions are 770 by 200 for two-column and 990 by 257 for wide layouts. You upload the header here > Appearance > Header

  For the Pilcrow theme a 770 by 200 pixel image will fit perfectly into the header.

  I suggest you crop or otherwise modify your image to that exact size before you add it to your images via Media/Add New.
