How to insert Google Analytics tracking code into each page of my blog/website
-
I am having trouble inserting my Google Analytics tracking code into the pages of my blog/site. I have gone onto a page to edit, then gone on to ‘text’ to access the code then tried pasting it in but it shows up as text on the actual site when I do. When I went to Google help they say that you insert the code “just before the closing </head> tag*. If your website uses templates to generate pages, enter it just before the closing </head> tag in the file that contains the <head> section” .. I can’t find any </head> tag on my pages – does that mean I don’t have full access to my coding? And if that is the case is there no ability to use Google Analytics with WordPress?
Thank you

I’m sorry, it’s not possible to install Google Analytics on WordPress.com. We do, however, offer a number of great stats features built into your blog.
There are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested.

Thanks Kardotim – that’s a shame :-( I will check out the stats features page you mentioned and see what that has to show me .. Cheers
