How to insert link and renaming it?
-
Hi! I’m just wondering on how people could insert your blog’s name in a certain post but instead of showing the real link, it gets covered up by name. Such as ‘fearlesssuperman’ (just an example). If you’d click it, you’d get to go to his/her wordpress blog. I mean, how could you do that? I’ve read the support guide and it only states how links could be inserted and you can only put a title on it. A title is just a name that appears when you hover the pointer around the link. It’s similar to like a Facebook mention.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I can help with that. Anchor text is the visible, clickable text in a hyperlink. Relevant anchor text matters because it tells search engines and visitors what the page is about before they land on it.See here https://en.support.wordpress.com/links/
For embedding links in post and pages this is the general link model:
Highlighted anchor text hereThis is the visual result – it’s not actually linked here in the forum.
Highlighted anchor text here1. In the Visual editor type the relevant descriptive anchor text you want to link to first. Note that “click here” is not a good choice. ;)
2. Then use your mouse to highlight that anchor text. (If you don’t highlight the anchor text the chain icon will remain grayed out and not be useable.)
3. Next click the chain icon in the editor and proceed to create the link. -
Let’s use your username and blog URL as as an example.
thegirlwhosinlovewithapenbecomes
thegirlwhosinlovewithapenWhen you type thegirlwhosinlovewithapen and highlight it and make the link.
In the pop-up link box you type http://thegirlwhosinlovewithapen.wordpress.com into the URL field.
In the pop-up link box below that you type thegirlwhosinlovewithapen
and then click Add Link. -
