How to install Jetpack?

I installed the latest version of jetpack but when I try to manage my plugins it takes me to a blank screen with the “Future upgrades to WordPress.com Stats will only be available in Jetpack. Jetpack connects your blog to the WordPress.com cloud, enabling awesome features.”

When you go to your Plugins page, are you able to view the list of active plugins? If so, can you try deactivating WordPress.com Stats before installing and activating Jetpack?

If you can’t access your Plugins page, you can manually delete the Jetpack plugin via FTP by removing it from your /wp-content/plugins/ folder.

I couldn’t get to my plugin page. That’s why I installed jetpack. Should I delete wordpress stats via FTP? Then install jetpack?

Just to confirm, before installing Jetpack you weren’t able to see your plugins page?

Did you see any type of error message? Before installing Jetpack, you’ll want to make sure that everything is working properly and that you can access your plugins page.

If you’re seeing an error message that isn’t related to Jetpack, we may not be able to help, but you can find support for self-hosted versions of WordPress here:

Before installing jetpack when I tried to access my plugin page I got this message:

“Future upgrades to WordPress.com Stats will only be available in Jetpack. Jetpack connects your blog to the WordPress.com cloud, enabling awesome features.”

It was in a header at the top of a blank page. I was able to access the install a new plug in so I installed jetpack which is showing as inactive when I look at it in edit. But when I try to access the plugin page where I upgrade or access plugins the jetpack header thing is what I get.

  • In that case, please try deleting the WordPress.com Stats plugin via FTP.
