How to integrate users blogs on central classroom site

Hi, this is a dumb question but i’m getting different answers all over the place. Like many of you, I’ve created a virtual classroom using WordPress.com (not .org) and my aim is to have all the students create their own own blog and maintain this blog throughout the course.

My question: Once I invite students to the blog and have them create their blog, how do I ensure that their blogs will direct (or redirect) to the core classroom blog (so, for example, a sidebar would be “Student Blogs” with all their names showing their blog posts on the core site). The idea of course being that all the commenting, revising, reviewing, commenting would be efficient and intuitive on the classroom website, and would not require linking out to Student X’s blog.

Is this implicit, or is there an extra move I have to make or a setting I have to customize, etc.?

    Thanks very much,

    James

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Bit tough – some things – you can put links to each others blog – or each student can have a link on their site to a Page with links to the other student blogs on the teacher’s blog – you could put a RSS Widget for each student blog in the sidebar of the teacher’s blog –

Also check out Edu Blogs http://edublogs.org/ – they specialize in teacher and school blogs – several different plans –

Finding the right page was tough but – http://edublogs.org/why-edublogs/

Looks like a Teacher account that lets you manage student blogs would be $ 40.- / year – they might already have the features ready to go as their standard system – they use WordPress software so the look and feel is the same as here – short learning curve
