Hi there,
Lodestar’s menu doesn’t have a built-in option to jump between different panels on the front page. You may be want to check out Pique, another of our free, one-page themes that works in the way you described by default.
If you want to stick with Lodestar then you can still achieve what you’re after, but it will take a bit more work.
These are the steps you’ll need to follow:
1. Follow the guidance here to set up a static front page.
2. Navigate to the Theme Options tab in the WordPress.com Customizer and assign different pages to each of Lodestar’s four panels.
3. Set up a custom menu by following these steps.
4. Add custom links to each of the front page’s panels to your custom menu. Those links will be in the following format:
https://communicationinparamedicine178.wordpress.com#post-11
The “11” in the above URL should be replaced by ID of the page assigned to the panel you want to link to. We have guidance for finding a page’s ID here:
Take a look through the above steps and don’t hesitate to let me know if questions come up along the way.

I tried what you have listed out siobhyb but to no avail. I’m not sure whether i may have don it wrong or if this are the steps to achieve what I desire. To clarify, I want to be able to chose a topic from the menu, then when it goes to the page, I want it to go to the start of the information without someone having to scroll down to it. If the steps you have given me are to do this then thank you, I must be incorrectly doing it. Perhaps i should just use Pique, it doesn’t do the page jumping I’m describing, but it doesn’t matter since the start of the info can be seen as the header image isn’t as big as lodestars and takes up the whole screen.

@communicationinparamedicine178,
There are no front page panels added yet to your site — see the Adding Panels part of the Setting Up Your Front Page section of the Pique theme guide — and the items in your displayed custom menu obviously don’t include URL extensions such as those suggested by @siobhyb. See the Adding Custom Links section of the Custom Menus support page.
Alternatively, without setting up panels you may try adding an URL extension such as #main or #content to each custom menu link to a page in order to have the link jump beyond the featured image to the title of the page, as suggested in the topic Disable header photo on pages.).

@communicationinparamedicine178: Let us know when you’ve completed the steps in the Setting Up Your Front Page section of the Pique theme guide.
Pique has a built in setting to change your menu which we can guide you on after you’ve follow those initial steps for the front page.
