how to keep files private from web but available for download when purchased?

    Hi

    My site tries to sell speech therapy programs to parents – PDFs. I have the PDFs in my library and link to them in my product pages. I noticed though that the PDFs can be found directly on the web. If I set “DLM Protect File” to Protect in the library they can’t be downloaded directly from the web but then the links to them don’t work when someone buys the product.

    Any ideas?

    Looking at the site on speech-therapyathome.com I can see it’s hosted on .hostinger.com – rather than our managed environment at WordPress.com.

    General advice is that you could watermark the pdfs to make them illegible unless downloaded directly from a link you provide the customer. You could also make folks contact you directly through a form. I know that you’ve moved your site but selling digital downloads is very common and our WooCommerce team can help you grow that business.
