How to keep just a domain and move out of WordPress?

  Hi,
  My domain is important to me. I’ve started with wordpress and with time needed a bit more so seeked the help of a webdesigner. He built a website outside of WordPress so I first changed the DNS to point towards that site and now my domain name is expiring. How do I keep it without resubscribing to WordPress which I’m not actually using?

  Transferring your domain registration to another registrar means that management of the domain name, including renewing it, will no longer be done with WordPress.com. To do that see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/
