How to Keep My Email Private?

I hope this isn’t a second posting, I cannot find the first one…
I do not use Facebook or Twitter, so have kept those buttons off my blog. I know there are not many options in getting traffic unless I comment on other blogs. I learned through leaving a comment on a blog and receiving one that the comment notification shows the email address of the commenter. Because of this I have no longer commented on blogs at WordPress.
Is there any way to comment without the blog owner NOT getting my email address? If the commenter has a blog on their profile when they comment I will visit it, but I do not need their email addresses any more than they need mine.

I tried to have a look at a way of hiding it but I couldn’t see it either, if I wanted someone not to get my main e-mail address, I’d use a different e-mail address that isn’t used for anything else and change it on the account settings.

Log out of WordPress.COM or comment as a “Guest” (one of the options at the bottom of the comment form)
