How to keep my free account expiration of paid domain account

    How do I disconnect my free account from my paid plan? My free plan is tied to my paid account. I want to revert back to my free account but I got an email from wordpress that my account will expire. I initially had a free plan and bought a domain account and ended up paying for two. I am not renewing the paid plan but want to maintain the free plan. Any help on how I can do that?

    Hi there!

    Your account will not be closed after you cancel the plan. I do not see, however, any paid subscription under the account you’re writing us from. What’s the domain you mentioned?

    The paid domain is nanaabena.org
    This is the domain that I will not renew.

    My original free domain is nanaabenawordpressorg.wordpress.com – this is the free domain but I received a message from wordpress that it will expire if I do not renew my paid subscription. I have posts under this domain

    Free addresses do not expire and your contents will not be removed if your custom domain (nanaabena.org) expires.

    Hi all, the user also posted at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/nanaabenawordpressorg-wordpress-com/#post-3456326 now closed.

    This personal account is my free account that was tied to my domain account nanaabena.org and then was charged for that account including the domain account. I have cancelled all paid accounts including the .org account and want to revert back to my initial free account before I upgraded. I keep getting emails from wordpress that my account will be cancelled if I do not upgrade. I want to keep my initial free account

    @lilynana    , to make things clear. The account from which you’re reaching us here has no paid subscriptions.
    Now, you seem to have another account, naabena, where you created a site nanaabenawordpressorg.wordpress.com. That site is using the custom domain you mentioned, nanaabena.org.
    The subscriptions are currently set to expire so if you do not renew them, the site will go back to the free plan and the domain nanaabena.org will disappear from it. All the content, however, will stay with the free address nanaabenawordpressorg.wordpress.com.

    The account naabena or lilynana will not be closed or affected in any other way.
    I hope that clarifies it but let me know if you have more questions about it.

    Thank you so much for all the responses.

    I keep receiving emails from WordPress that my account: nanaabenawordpressorg.wordpress.com will be deleted. This account was initially set up as a free account and later charged because I upgraded and got a domain account and was billed for both accounts. I am expecting my original free account to remain and not deleted as it was originally set up as a free account; I am expecting only nanaabena.org to get deleted and not my free account. I am so confused because of the constant emails from WordPress That my accounts will be deleted if I do not renew to a paid account.

    No account of yours will be deleted. The only thing that will be removed is the Personal plan and the custom domain nanaabena.org.

    Your site will still be available under nanaabenawordpressorg.wordpress.com.
