How To Keep Photos from embedding to Twitter Posts
-
When I post my photos in WordPress in posts, I do not want the link I post to my Twitter account to show the image on Twitter, only to show the link so that traffic comes to WordPress to view. I cannot find a way or answer to this, how do I turn it off in WP so it does not show the image up on Twitter with the link. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
Will you please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog in question. If it’s a private blog not to worry. We Volunteers cannot see into the blog but we do need to confirm whether or not it is a free hosted WordPress.com blog and if so which one it is. -
-
You have not text in the posts and it’s only the post title and link to it that are displayed on Twitter so I’m not clear what the issue is.
-
You should put text in the posts, if only a description of the image, so Twitter has something to grab. And on Twitter you can set whether or not it displays media.
-
The problem is when I include a photo in my WordPress posts with or without text and then post with “share” buttom to Twitter or with link, the “tweet” includes the image so that it shows up on Twitter. I have turned everything off, including all permissions and they still show up in twitter feed with photos. Thanks for your help, I’ll contact support at both WP/Twitter.

There is no place on Twitter to turn off links showing images or videos. WP please direct how we can turn off our images from appearing on Twitter. Thank you.

I do not understand you. What’s displayed on Twitter is 140 character Tweets.

@reformedwomen: Is this what you mean?

Timethief, if you go to my HDR site here:
and then to the Twitter which is here
you will see what happens when I post from the WP to Twitter. “view media” is slides down (new Twitter) on side (old Twitter).
I do not want the images to display on Twitter. There is no place on Twitter to turn off. Thanks. -
Well, the links did not show up using the “link” above so here
-
The links are missing above. Please post them so we can see what you mean.
How are you posting to Twitter? Are you using publicize? http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#twitter -
I visited both sites and what I see on Twitter is links to your posts. When I click the links I see the images. I’m not clear on what it is that concerns you here at all. If you do not authorize publicize then it cannot be used to post links . If you don’t want the links to your posts to be posted to your Twitter account disconnect the app.

Thanks, when you are on Twitter, you see the “view media” and then when clicked it shows the image and text. I do not want it to show that, only the link back to WordPress. I am using the “Share” button on WP to post or when I post a direct link, same thing happens. I have publize turned off. Even if you remove ability on WP, no Twitter app, they still show up. Even if you remove all of your share buttons, turn it off, they still show up. That is why there is a problem and unfortunately seems to be no fix. There is no Twitter app turned on.

I’m sorry but I don’t know how to help you with this. I assume there is some setting on the Twitter site you need to use. Have you tried the Twitter help Center?
-
Thanks, no there is nothing at Twitter, no app, etc. The link is being pulled from WP. I will close this again and contact WP support, if, I can ever get an answer from them. Many people are having the same problem.
