How to limit number of posts displayed on front page

  I’m utilizing Stela theme from WordPress.com and my front page displays my most recent posts. I’m looking for the option/a way to limit the number of posts displayed on my front page, so it’s not a never-ending scroll as I build more content. Please help! Thank you.
