How to line break instead of word break

My posts have strange word breaks (without even a hyphen).
(i.e. them becomes t[break to next line]hem)
How can I force a line break instead of a word break?
After researching potential solutions, I tried word-wrap: break-word; but then the line extends way beyond the frame of the page.

Hi @propatriacanada, I see only one deleted WordPress.com site associated with your username, so I’m assuming you are talking about a self-hosted WordPress site. For self-hosted WordPress sites such as yours, I would suggest asking for help from the theme author directly or ask in the volunteer-based WordPress.org forums.
