How to link domains

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I have 2 domains. I wish for the domain I have just created to be the main site and the second domain be the blog, connected to the main site. Would appreciate some advice on how to do this. Currently the blog (the first domain created) is the main domain and the second domain seems to be part of the main domain.

  • Hello there,

Are you able to tell us the domains you’re looking to use with WordPress.com?

This will help to determine next steps.

    Many thanks.

I have replied with domain names at least 6 times but they are not showing as replies in this thread. Are you receiving anything?

Hi there, it looks like our forum spam filter got a little zealous. I’ve fished your replies out and deleted the duplicates. Thanks for your patience.

  • Alright, it looks like you’re talking about a site created under another account. Remember that you’ll have access to live chat support if you reach us via https://wordpress.com/help/contact from the correct account.

Circling back to the issue with your domains.
It’s not really possible to have two different domains mapped to different pages on one site.

You can have one primary domain and many other secondary ones, but those secondary domains will always redirect to the main domain and to your homepage.
If you would like to have two different domains, one for your main site and another for the blog, you would need to move the blog to a new site with its own plan.

    Does that make sense?
