How to link gallery images to separate pages?

  Hi,

  I’m trying to design a website on which to sell dresses. I have a small test mosaic gallery on one of the pages, and when an image is clicked on it brings up a fullscreen slideshow. I need each image to link to a new page where one could buy that specific dress. Is this possible?

  Hi Ruth,

  At present that isn’t possible using the gallery. You can only link to attachment pages or to the photo’s larger version.

  The only real suggestion which I have is to individually post the images of each item, which can be linked to other pages. This has some problems however because the images don’t look nearly as nice and it can get very unweildy.

  I can work round it I suppose, but then is there a way to have these non-gallery images link to a new page inside the same site without these pages appearing in the menu? Otherwise there would be tens of menu links. Cheers

  There is indeed! You just need to create a custom menu which only has the pages in it which you want to have appear in your menu bar. You can read about how to create custom menus right here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
