How to link my Etsy page with photos to my blog
-
fondlemyart,
Hi,
Are you up for a little coding adventure?Take a look at the embeds in this post:
How to add a Tumblr feed in a wordpress.com blogChoose Vuvox Express/ Springwidgets/Widgetbox/Takeslides and you can have your Etsy widget.
Make a widget and if you can’t figure out how to convert the code they give you for your wordpress.com blog, paste the code here. I will modify the code for you.
And if I can’t, we can request Panos, who can probably solve it!

sanjidas,
I’m a bit on the slow side when it comes to this stuff. I used Vuvox Express and this is the code they give :
<object width=”400″ height=”346″><param name=”allowFullScreen” value=”true” /><param name=”movie” value=”http://www.vuvox.com/presentations/02f71fa3b3.swf”/><embed src=”http://www.vuvox.com/presentations/02f71fa3b3.swf” allowFullScreen=”true” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” width=”400″ height=”346″></embed></object>
I have no idea what to with it now :(
Thanks so much for your help!

[gigya src="http://www.vuvox.com/presentations/02f71fa3b3.swf" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="400" height="346"]This is the code that will work in wordpress.com.

Sanjidas,,
This is fantastic. to put this on my blog off to the right, permanently, where do I embed the code.
Thanks for figuring this out.
I did place it in my new post area, saved as a draft to see what it looks like, but I don’t want it for a post. But permanently off to the side.
thanks, -
Just paste the code in a text widget, save it and view! :)
Thanks for thanking me! And there’s one more thing…
You have to change the height and width of your widget, because it is probably too big for the side bar.
Paste this code to make it smaller:
[gigya src="http://www.vuvox.com/presentations/02f71fa3b3.swf" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="220" height="170"] -
Sanjidas,
I did that, but it’s someone else’s page now! Maybe fondelmyart’s by mistake.
right size though. Can you fix it so it’s mine?
Also, how do I set it up so when someone clicks on this widget, it takes them to my real etsy.com page? -
sanjidas you rock!! Thank you…
davidjacobsonglass has interesting question about linking to the etsy page…
all etsians…this works nicely, but doesn’t update from your cutsom shop order like a mini does … it updates from your currently for sale section so it will show the last things posted…just fyi :)

davidjacobsonglass,
Can you paste the code of your Etsy? Then I can make it smaller. Or if it is the same widget I posted before, then here it is in a smaller size:
[gigya src="http://www.vuvox.com/presentations/02f05200aa.swf" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="220" height="170"]fondlemyart,
The Etsy widget I made shows links on top of a photo when zoomed. If it doesn’t show then you can always use a text link below the widget. Thanks for your appreciation!

sanjidas,
It works!
But, how do I get it so when you click, or double-click on this it will send you to the actual etsy.com site, like it does with an image widget? -
Hi there,
I’m trying to do the same thing here. I went to Vuvox Express, but I can’t find “Springwidgets.” Where do I find that?
Thanks!!
-
OK, sorry, I found everything down to TakeSlides. Got there, but now I can’t figure out how to get my Etsy “feed”. Suggestions?
Thanks!

davidjacobsonglass,
I am not sure I understand. I never had any problem configuring an Etsy widget so that it goes to the user’s page. When I do it, I click an image from the widget and it takes me to the user’s Etsy page.If you are having trouble with that, you can always use a text link below the actual widget that will lead your reader to your Etsy shop.
bethpc,
Go to your Etsy page and copy the url from the address bar. Now just add /rss after it without any space and you will have your Etsy feed. -
