How to link to pdf's with images

    Hi all,

    I need some help trying to get the same effect you see on this page:

    website

    There images are used that link to PDF’s. Does this mean you have to upload the pdf’s and upload images of these pdf’s, then post the image and link it to the pdf? Or is there a simpler way when you already have the pdf, to create an image of it and make that clickable?

    Asking a support questions here about a self-hosted blog – It’s a bit like going to the Ford dealership and asking a question about your Mercedes … They are both cars, and have very similar technology running them, but only a Mercedes dealership will answer your Mercedes related questions.

    But does that mean the technology behind my question is also different?

    Self-hosted WordPress and WordPress.com WordPress are based on the same technology. BUT for WordPress.com there are no user customisations in PHP/Javascript/Plugins, everything is done by our lord and master Matt Mullenweg, or his authorised representatives … OBVIOUSLY with a self-hosted site you can hack away to your heart’s content, and add exotic plugins that WordPress.com wouldn’t touch with a barge pole. Within that some of the plugins from WordPress.org are available in WordPress.com …

    So simple answer, YES, they are based on the same technology, BUT no they aren’t the same thing.

    As I said before, you won’t get support in this forum on your self-hosted blog. Not because we don’t want to help, but because it’s not the correct place to be asking.
