How to linki the header name to the page content

I’m using Twenty Ten. I wrote and published a page titled “Companion”. The name “Companion” now appears next to “Home” and “About” on the header. But when I click on “Companion”, the text for “About” appears. How do I get the page content for “Companion” to appear when I click on “Companion” ? (I’m a real neophyte so please make this a SIMPLE explanation if possible! Thanks.)

    Hi there!

First off, you have “About” listed as the parent page to “Companion” and I don’t think you want that :) So, let’s make that adjustment first.

    1. In your site’s Dashboard, click Pages → All Pages.
    2. Then click Companion to open it in your editor.
    3. In the right-hand sidebar, you’ll see a box labeled Page Attributes. Under the label “Parent,” please change it to “(no parent).” Click the blue Update button to save that change.

Now, let’s fix that menu link:

    1. Click Appearance → Menus.
    2. Click on the little down arrow next to your Companion menu item.
    3. Click “Remove.”
    4. Now, you’ll re-add that item. In the left-hand menu, click Companion. Then, Add to Menu.
    5. Click Save Menu.

Then visit your site. Refresh the screen. Try the Companion menu item out and let me know if it works for you. Best of luck! :)

THANKS so much! It took about three minutes to fix (after struggling for hours yesterday to figure it all out) and was successful. Happy!

Hooray! That’s what I like to hear. Best of luck with your site!
