How to list your new blog with the search engines?
-
My new WordPress.com blog is barely two weeks old. I’ve not yet been “found” by the major search engines. What is the best way to get the ball rolling? Would the URL upgrade help?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve not yet been “found” by the major search engines. Yes, you have:
http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Abostonrealestatemaven.wordpress.comYou only have two posts. Posting more and regularly is the only thing that helps.

Thanks, Jan; helpful. (Handsome site, by the way; my compliments.)
Assuming I keep adding posts, will either of the following give me an advantage with the search engines over the long haul: 1) URL upgrade, and/or 2) WordPress.org site?

You’re welcome and thank you for the compliments.
Having your own domain does nothing in terms of being found by search engines. It’s your content that counts. Domains are more a matter of “branding”.
Going for wordpress.org or not depends on what you plan do with your blog. If it’s just meant as a blog, wordpress.com will do fine. If you want to develop it into a company website or, in time, engage your readers more(inter)actively, wordpress.org has more options.
That said, I would start using my own domain already now. That way you are already starting the branding process, and if you ever decide to go for wordpress.org or some other system you will not lose all the effort you have put into it since all links to your then ‘old’ URLs will be instantly transferred over to your new place of residence, so to speak.

Thanks, again, Jan, for the thoughtful answer. What you say supports what I’ve been assuming. Will do on the URL, which I already own.

It’s great city, indeed. Slightly off-topic now, aren’t we? Anyway, I’m glad I was able to help.

@pbencivenga you don’t have a blog, you have a post. Write some more and Google will notice you.
