how to log into my admin page?

Hi,
I have registered a domain name via ipage and have selected WordPress to use to create my blog.
Instructions on blogging101 said to go to http://www.your domain name.com/wp-admin but it just say a username isn’t correct.I have double checked it and tried a few times but its still saying the same thing. Am I doing this correctly?
Am I meant to open a new tab and type that in, which is; http://www.Scottishmumontherun.com/wp-admin
If not how do I get started creating my blog? When I log into WordPress it just offers me option to choose !y free name or pay for them to set up a new name.
Can anyone help a complete beginner to all this?

do you need help with http://www.scottishmumontherun.com/wp-admin ? That is a self-hosted blog, not a WordPress.com one.
WordPress.com vs WordPress.org comparison can you find here.
If you have other blog of yours, post the url here, but the above wasn’t a WordPress.com blog.

Ah yes! That’s what the problem is. I did try logging to tomy eelfhosted blognsite but it asked for a username and password so I set that up on WordPress. Is that not the right thing to do?
