How to look up for user in Privacy setting?

i would like to publish my blog only to limited people. In Privacy setting, what shall i type in as username? Do i have to add them as user for my blog first? If so, what role shall i assign to them? I only want them to view and comment my entires. but none of contributor, editor, author or administrator role seem to be able to serve the function. i am so confused. what can i do to add ppl as read-only user? Please help!!

Hi. Giving people access to view your blog is not the same as giving them a role to write in your blog.
The blog agar810.wordpress.com seems to be private already. Go to Settings > Privacy and enter each username you want to give access to. Details and video here:

I forgot to mention: the people MUST have a WordPress.COM username already (but not necessarily a blog). Invite them by going to Users > Invite or ask them to visit:
http://wordpress.com/signup/
