How to make a border around the entire body section?

  I want a dashed border like there is on the header around the body too but I can only select individual elements rather than wrapping the border around all the white space.

  This might be a good starting place. Note that I increased the width of #wrapper to accomodate the extra 2px border that was added to .middle on each side:

  .middle {
  	border: 2px dashed #ab2427;
  }
  #wrapper {
  	width: 984px;
  }
