How to make a certain amount of posts private?
-
Hi there
It’d be great if anyone can spare a few minutes answering my following questions. It’ll be so greatly appreciated.
1.) does anyone know how to make a selective amount of posts go private whilst the rest can be read by other people?
2.) I’ve recently imported a few archives of posts from xanga and I’d like them to go private. How can I make them go private all in one go? As in what is the quickest way of me doing it?
Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Here are your options for changing the visibility of your posts: http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/
If you have posts you want to be visible only to you (or other editors on your site) than go with Private. If you want to be able to decide who can see what, you’ll need to use password protection for those posts.
As for how to make them private quickly, you have two options.
If you want to make all the posts completely private, go to Posts>All Posts on your dashboard, check the box to the left of the title on all the posts you want to make private and then at the top of the page, click the “bulk actions” box and set it to edit. Click Apply.
When the bulk edit box opens, click the box next to “status” in the right column and set it to “private.” Then click update.
If you’d rather give the posts a password, you’ll have to do each one individually. From the same Posts>All posts page, hover over the title of each post you want to change and then click “quick edit.” At the bottom of the left column you’ll see a spot to add a password. Add your password and then click “update”
Let me know if any of that was unclear, or if you run into trouble.
