    -> Options -> Discussion
    complete the correct fields to remove email notifications and moderation by an administrator and click “Update Options” to save

    Done that but it is still happening. Could this be a problem with akismet conflict? I want people to leave a comment WITHOUT moderation after they have been approved the FIRST time. However I can not get this to happen.

    This is the second thread I have posted these intstructions to please read them.

    @jasmate
    Please go to the page indicated and read carefully through all of the options. Then check off the appropriate fields to achieve what you want.

    Dashboard -> Options -> Discussion
    Discussion Options

    Usual settings for an article:
    (These settings may be overridden for individual articles.)

    * Attempt to notify any Weblogs linked to from the article (slows down posting.)
    * Allow link notifications from other Weblogs (pingbacks and trackbacks.)
    * Allow people to post comments on the article

    E-mail me whenever:

    * Anyone posts a comment
    * A comment is held for moderation

    Before a comment appears:

    * An administrator must always approve the comment
    * Comment author must fill out name and e-mail
    * Comment author must have a previously approved comment

    Click “Update Options” to save.

    Once you have done this you will have to moderate only the first comment any blogger makes and after you approve that comment their following comments will not require moderation.

    If this does not work then you will have to use the “Support” button on any admin side blog page on the top right hand corner to report the problem to staff, during support hours.

    Yes I have all those marked, I will need to contact support with this. Where exactly do I go to get that support link? I looked in the dashboard & it just has a link to support forums. Cheers.

    Never mind I found the support link here :) thanks.

  • Unknown's avatar

    You’re welcome. :)

  • Unknown's avatar

    Ok I can’t use support :(
    I get this message: “We only provide support for WordPress.com blogs here. Please go to the WordPress.org Support Forum for further help.”

    Here is my message if anyone here can help that would be GREAT!

    Comments being held for moderation after first comment approved.
    Hi. I understand all the options in “discussion” & “general” but even with everything ticked/unticked properly I am needing to approve repeat comments manually.

    Here is the site in question: http://www.reallyreally.net/
    Thanks for helping,
    Jas.

    http://www.reallyreally.net/ This is not a wordpress.com blog.
    We at wordpress.com run on different software from that which is downloaded from wordpress.org. If you have wordpress.org software then this is where you must go for support http://wordpress.org/support

    The differences between wordpress.com and wordpress.org are summarized here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=3700

    Ok just finished reading through that. Wow how confusing for people like me :)
    I will head over to the .org site and see if they can help me. Thanks for pointing this “newbie” in the right direction.

    Regards,
    Jas.

    If you had linked your username to the blog then from the outset we could have re-directed you immediately. As it was we had no url to work with and until you provided one we didn’t know that your blog was not a wordpress.com hosted blog.

    Happy blogging jas. :)

    Sorry about that. Anyone that may want to help out can see my thread here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/134986

  • Unknown's avatar

    The forum you have posted to has different bloggers answering questions there. The two forums are not linked because there are two different kinds of software. IMO you may need staff help because the instructions I posted above usually work fine on both wordpress.com blogs and on wordpress.org installs as well ( I know because I have one).

    Any idea how I can get staff help at .org
    No one has replied to my thread yet :(
