How to make a country flag list widget?
-
Hi,
I’ve been travelling for two years now, and wanted to create a widget for my followers to go directly to my country posts (+40). I was hoping to have the name and flag of the country listed, both of which being linked to the specific post for that country.
I have tried using custom and text widgets, but nothing seems to be working. Is there a way of creating this widget?
Thanks!
Chris

If you wish you can also install a Flagcounter in a text widget in your sidebar or footer widget area. Go to the Flag Counter site http://www.flagcounter.com/ to get the code. Go to > Appearance > Widgets and open a text widget then copy and paste the code into it. Lastly, click “save” and “close” in the widget and that’s it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/

That widget will automatically display the flags of the countries your blog visitors enter the blog from only.
If you want anything more elegant than that then you will have to purchase a custom design upgrade and do the required CSS editing.

Thanks Timethief,
I have created a flagcounter as you suggested, and when I return home in six months I will make the upgrade to custom ;)
