How to make a customized header

  I’ve been on wordpress now a couple of years, but I still can’t figure out how to customize my own header banner..Isn’t there a free way for me to do that without having to buy a program? I’d like to make my own header with name of my blogsite written out; instead of using pictured images..I’ve seen it done on other pages..Thanks in advance for your help

  It looks like you have several uploaded header images that you have used here:

  Are you looking for a different header image than the ones you have uploaded already? We don’t have a tool for creating header images at WordPress.com, but you could definitely create one using Word or something like Pixlr (a web-based app):

  http://apps.pixlr.com/editor/

  You would just want to make sure the header image is close to 960×260 for this theme.

  If this isn’t exactly what you’re looking for, could you clarify a bit more?

  thanks that’s exactly what I want to do .. Create my own header . Will check Pixlir and Word out tonight
