how to make a one page website using my own picture?

  Hi:

  I used WP a couple of years ago to create a blog. Now I want to make a very simple one-page website with the cover of my book and and a few items of text. Everything seems very different from the past and I ‘m having trouble getting started. So far, I see that I can select certain existing pictures but there’s no opportunity to insert my own.

  Would very much appreciate some guidance.
