how to make a poll

  • Unknown's avatar

    I’ve tried to make a poll but when I put these codes in, I don’t have the possibility to chose..

    <!– Begin Adventor code –>
    <!– code gegenereerd door http://www.adventor.nl–&gt;
    <table border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 width=100% bgcolor=#FFFFFF style=”font-size: 10 pt; color: #000000; font-family: Arial; border: 1 solid #333333″>
    <form action=”http://www.adventor.nl/polluitslag.asp” target=”_blank” name=”adventor13866″>

    <td colspan=2 bgcolor=#333333 style=”font-size: 10 pt; color: #FFFFFF; font-family: Arial” >Nieuwe naam..

    <tr><td colspan=2><b>Wat vind jij de aansprekelijkste naam voor onze nieuwe site?</b></td></tr>
    <tr><td colspan=2> </td></tr>
    <tr><td width=5% valign=top><input type=radio value=1 name=Antw></td>
    <td align=left width=95% >www.nietmoeilijk.nl</td></tr>
    <tr><td width=5% valign=top><input type=radio value=2 name=Antw></td>
    <td align=left width=95% >www.cvrndt.nl</td></tr>
    <tr><td width=5% valign=top><input type=radio value=3 name=Antw></td>
    <td align=left width=95% >www.vinkelzuid.nl</td></tr>
    <tr><td width=5% valign=top><input type=radio value=4 name=Antw></td>
    <td align=left width=95% >www.zingiseenliedje.nl</td></tr>
    <tr><td width=5% valign=top><input type=radio value=5 name=Antw></td>
    <td align=left width=95% >www.hoempapa.nl</td></tr>
    <tr><td colspan=2> </td></tr>

    <td colspan=2 bgcolor=#FFFFFF>

    <input type=submit value=”stem” name=B1><input type=submit name=”Tussenstand” value=”Uitslag”></td>
    <input type=hidden name=”SiteID” value=”11057″>
    <input type=hidden name=”VraagID” value=”13866″>
    <input type=hidden name=”PollBasisId” value=”7415″>
    </tr></form></table>
    <!– Einde Adventor code –>

    Do I also have to make some other things in wordpress?

    WordPress.com does not as yet provide for polls on our blogs. The wp programming will strip the code you have above out. Your only choice for a poll on a wordpress.com blog is found on the internet at luckypolls. Please read this thread http://wordpress.com/forums/topic.php?id=2257&replies=46

    wordpress.com does not ban polls.

    The reason why the code is being stripped is because it’s based on a form. Forms are removed from user input as they are a security risk and puts all of the blogs here at risk since this is a shared environment.

    The polls from luckypolls.com are the current workaround since they’re based on individual links for each selection instead of a form.

    Hope this helps,

    It certainly doesn’t and I did NOT say wordpress bans polls [she scratches her head puzzled]? I said: WordPress.com does not as yet provide for polls on our blogs.

    Do you have any time frame as to when/if WordPress will allow polls?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Probably not until there’s a groundswell of support AND a non-form, non-javascript way to put them in the blog. In the meantime the luckypolls workaround seems to fill the gaps.

    Not sure if anyone has tried Surveymonkey with WordPress, but I think it should work, since the survey itself is on their servers, not our blogs. My business contacts use them and like them.

    First I’ve heard about Surveymonkey. I’ll add them to my todo list as I would like a way to do this now as well.

    You can try vizu.com or dpolls.

  • Unknown's avatar

    as far as I know, Vizu doesn’t work with wordpress as well! And I have probs with luckypolls because they, like another member’s experience, resets everything and/or directs to the main page of luckypolls

  • Unknown's avatar

    I confirm: Vizu don´t work.
    And luckypolls is now using anoying “soft-porn” pictures on each poll!
    Any other html-simple polls available? (none found, until now…)
    Wordpress creators: please create a widget for this…

    No longer.
    I recomend luckypolls again.
