How to make a post continue on another “page”
-
Sorry if this topic has been done to death, but I’m new at this and I can’t seem to find out how to make a long post so that only the first part of it is on the main blog page and then if people want to see the complete article they click on a link at the bottom and that takes them to a “page” specfic to that post on which the whole long post can be read, along with comments.
I use the word “page” in quotes because I realize this is not what WordPress generally considers a page to be. However I have seen WordPress blogs that work in this way so I’m confident there must be a fairly simple way to do this. Who can direct to where I can read all about it?
Thanks in advance!

If your blog is hosted here at wordpress.COM, you can use the more tag http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/07/08/splitting-posts-with-the-more-tag/

you can use these short cuts also
<!--nextpage-->
this will put page 1 page 2 at the bottom of the post.
<!--more-->
