How to make a stand-alone website with existing blog content

  Hello. I am new to WordPress and have been assigned to convert our website to WP form. Currently we have a WP blog. but How do I make a WP site? We also have a domain registered with Go Daddy… I would like to use the current domain and link it to a WP site. I was told that I need to make a “stand-alone” site. Thank you
