How to make a subcategories?

Hi everybody, i got a question, actualy i know how to creat a subcategories, but i dont know how to make it with open/close cross, like in file system tree?
what should i do for that? -
The way you create sub-categories the same way as you create categories with one extra step. When creating a subcategory you need to assign a “parent” category.
Using the example of Apples (category) and MacIntosh (subcategory) heres’s a walk through -> dashboard -> manage -> categories -> add new
Now you will see “fields” that you need to add information to
Add Category
Category name: Macintosh
Category parent: Apple
Description: (optional)
Remember to click “add category” to save your work. I hope this helps. Happy Blogging. -
Mmm, maybe im explain not so clesr what i want to do.
But I need that parent category can open by cross near and close by the same way (to press a cross) with a subcategories, like in browser files system tree.
I think it need to add some php scripts into my theme…
if so could you give some tips for that? -

Here at wordpress.com we cannot alter our php scripts. WordPress.com is a MU (multi-user) blogging platform. You may want to take a few moments and read this description about the different versions of WordPress software posted in a pink “read me first” sticky at the head of this forum. -
bigbrob is trying to create a colapsable menu tree. You would have to be able to add in your own Javascripts to the code base to do that and user inputted Javascripts are not allowed due to security concerns. (You would be able to hack TT’s blog from yours if they were allowed)
You would have to grab a copy of the wordpress software from http://wordpress.org and find your own host to get something like that.
