how to make a text and image article index page

    Hi,

    This is my first post and my first wordpress site I am trying to set up. I have got the basic menu options for a thesis theme site.

    Ideally I would like to have one menu link ‘Articles’ and for this page to have an intro paragraph, then articles displayed as title, a paragraph of intro text and an image. with the latest article at the top.

    I am not sure how different this is from displaying blogs or if there is already an option to display this, but so far on my google searches I have found entries referring to plug ins that usually require a bunch of coding (that this newbie cant do) and ftp uploads.

    Sorry for this novice question,but can anyone point me to a simple way of displaying articles that I make?
