How to make asides, quotes, image, video, etc posts in new editor

  I love the Twenty Fourteen Theme because it allows me to have a sidebar with previews of specific types of posts, such as Images, Video, and Quotes. I don’t see an opportunity to categorize my posts as such when I use the new editor. (…but I still want them to be able to appear as previews in these sidebars.) Help! How can I do this?

  The option you are looking for is called “post formats.” If you click “Advanced Settings” in the menu on the right side of the new editor, the full menu will open up and you’ll see “post formats” as an option.

  Just click the down arrow to choose the format you want.
