    Hello there,

can you share the site you wish to back up with us?

You can also learn how to back up your site here: https://wordpress.com/support/restore/

  • Hey there, that was getting stuck in spam for some reason.

    We recommend Jetpack Backup:

    Jetpack

There are many other backup solutions out there, too, so feel free to explore them. And most hosts offer some kind of built-in backup option, too.

    – Make sure the backup doesn’t back up previous backups, or you’ll end up with this exponentially large file

    – Sometimes those don’t include data. You’ll need to back up your files and your data.

    – Your host may not have a simple way to restore those, so be sure you check in to see how it’s done there

    – one point of backups is to save your site if there’s a problem with your server. If the backup is on the server that stops working, you’re out of luck. So, if you do use built-in backups from your host, be sure to download after the backup, and delete the file from your site before the next backup.

Or, you can just use a service that incrementally backs up your site to the cloud for you. I’d recommend that if you can swing it.

Going forward, these forums are for the sites hosted here on our servers. If you use other hosting, there is another forum for the free WordPress software. You can find that here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

And if you’d like more info about the difference between the WordPress software and the services by WordPress.com, we have more info here. Our plans include spam protection, security, maintenance, and if your plan supports it, the same incremental backups through Jetpack. Let us know if you have any questions about our services!
