How to make blog look more like news website with columns

  I was wondering how I could make my WordPress blog (http://kanadaihirlap.com ) look more like a news website with a feature story on top and then two columns with a brief intro and links to several other stories. The website below also uses WordPress and it has managed to create this look. How can I do this as well?

  That appears to be a custom theme. No themes here work like that, but if you want a newsier look, you can try Depo Masthead. If you know CSS, you can play around with different themes like Hemingway in the free Preview and if you do get it looking the way you want, you can purchase the upgrade and make the changes permanent.
