how to make blog private and let users login with passwd
-
Hi, This is a Non profit blog being run by a few volunteers.
1) Only specific University students must be able to register and have access to the entire blog. This is non-profit so we are trying to do this with wordpress.com. Can we do this (for free) and how?
2) Want to add a forum for discussion. Any pointers on how to include this
3) Want to list documents (Google docs) as links. How to do this.
4) Want to list multiple pages (click on link in main blog page, that should direct you to another fresh page, potentially different theme) – how to do this..
I am a newbie, thanks for your support.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1) If the blog is set to private, then you are the one to add users. Users will have to sign up for a wordpress.com account (they don’t need to get a blog).
2) A forum cannot be added directly, but what a lot of people do is to get a free forum from one of the online services and then link to it from within the blog.
3) You can create links in posts, pages, or in a text widget in the sidebar and then link to those documents at Google.
4) In general, all pages are going to reflect the same theme, but there are a couple themes that have a “no-sidebar” page template (which makes them look different), and with the new twenty ten theme, you can actually have a different header image for each page if you wish.
