Hi there, you can add categories to your main navigation by creating a custom menu. Log into your admin area and go to Appearance->Menus.
From there, create a new custom menu if you don’t already have one. Once you have created a new menu select the new menu for your Main Menu theme location (top left section).
On this page you can add in custom links to your menu, links to your pages as well as links to the categories that you would like to display.

Hi,
I am using the Chunk theme. I want to have more than one menu on the top of my page, but it does not seem to allow me to do this. It says Your theme supports 1 menu. Select which menu you would like to use, however it does seem to allow me to have two menu’s with the same name?
Please help!

Pages are static and are for content that rarely changes. They sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot post to multiple pages in any blog. There is only one main page for posts in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
Choice 1 static front page
Choice 2 running page for all posts on front page
Which do you choose? It’s one or the other.
If you choose a static front page then you have to create two pages as I said above. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the categories pages that are autpmatically generated by the software into the custom menu.

Creating Sub-Menus > http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-of-menu-items-and-creating-sub-menusA custom menu allows you to display Categories with drop-downs to sub-categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation where normally only Pages tabs are displayed. If you wish you can also include Pages with drop-downs to sub-pages and/or Tags pages and/or Custom Links in your custom menu as well. You are in charge of what appears in a custom menu. You choose the order in which to display any and/or all the foregoing in your custom menu. You choose which to display and which to hide.

hi, thank you for your comments. This is my blog – http://omnomm.wordpress.com/
I want there to be along the top three options for visitors to click on – oh well hey there, eat in and take out. on the menu section of my dashboard i have selected these menus, added them and they are all saved there and displayed when i click through to ‘menu’ on the dashboard, but then when i look on the blog only one is displayed. how do i have all three displayed? I just want people to be able to click through if they only want to see one kind of restaurant…
also, can i change the name ‘home’ to something else?
thanks so much for your help!

@lmass, I checked your Appearance → Menus page and it looks like you’ve added several menus instead of adding one menu and putting menu items inside it.
The ‘Home’ option will go away if you select a custom menu under Primary Navigation, and the theme will just display your custom menu at that point. Try taking another spin through the menus help page—it has tons of screenshots showing examples and a video walkthrough at the bottom too. You’re super close to figuring them out!
