How to make categories of private posts visible..
-
Hi,
I mainly blog for myself, so I maintain a blog, of which , most of the posts are private, but I would like to assign categories to these posts, and be able to browse through my posts(public as well as private) on the basis of categories. I want these categories listed on the sidebar (even categories of private posts), but currently this is not happening.
What I want is : When I am logged in, the sidebar should show categories of both my public as well as private posts.
When I am not logged in: The sidebar should show categories of only public posts. Thanks!

Hi,
I have found a solution to this problem at:
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/175406This solution edits wp-includes/category-template.php.
But I don’t understand where can I find this file and how do I edit this?Link of my blog is questforgrowth.wordpress.com
As you see, I am not hosting the blog, I am using the wordpress.com to host my blog.
Thanks!

There is a really good reason for asking for a link to your blog. We get a lot of questions here from people who are not hosted here and we have to direct them to the forum you located. The solution you found, however, will not work here as we do not have access to the php files, being that we are on a shared platform.
In looking at your blog, I only see one post. If there are more, then they are being excluded from everything, including the post count shown in the archives. The only way to get a category to show is for there to be a post in it. If you have other posts AND they are categorized, then the only way for that category to show up is to have a public post in it.
