How to Make Changes to Existing Site Header and Title and Not Lose Prior Posts
-
Hi All, I started a blog for my winter travels last year and would like to continue with the blog this year but update the title, header picture and such. How can I do that and not change the way it looked from last year’s posts if one was to go back to that point in time and want to look at what was there then?

Updating settings like the site title, theme, colour palettes and header images would make the change across the whole site. I’m afraid there isn’t a way to keep the current styles for older posts while creating new ones for the most recent content.
Making the changes I mentioned above won’t remove any of the old content though — the styling will match the new changes you make.
The only workaround I can think of would be to create a second site for newer content and crosslink the two in the site menus. On the downside, content from the two time periods would be separate and visitors would need to move between the two sites so that may not be ideal.
